Hello! My name is Hannah Cummiskey and I've been teaching voice and piano lessons for about seven years. I was born and raised in sunny Phoenix, Arizona before moving to the great city of Sitka, Alaska.
Music has always been an integral part of my life. I first joined the Phoenix Girls Chorus at seven years old, and have loved choral singing ever since. After beginning piano lessons a year later, my musical interest truly began to bloom. During high school I had the opportunity to direct our audition-based treble jazz ensemble and fell in love with the art of teaching and the joy of collaborating with fellow musicians. After pursuing my Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Arizona State University and becoming a certified K-12 teacher, I realized private teaching was my true passion. I began my Masters in Vocal Performance Pedagogy and completed the degree in 2018 under the vocal instruction of Gordon Hawkins. Since then, I have been teaching private lessons full-time to students of all ages.
While I'm trained as a classical Soprano, primarily specializing in Art Song, I also love to sing Musical Theater, Jazz, and Folk. I believe there is a place for all students with a wide variety of goals in music; I hope you'll join me!
